By utilising the ‘weathered stone’ effect of WBS Silicone WP Scratch Render, stonework or blockwork can easily be replicated on plinths, corbels or ground floor elevations, by utilising specialist cutting tools.

Recessed joints (ashlar grooves) are cut into the finished render whilst the render is still green (i.e. set but not fully hardened) enabling the formation of horizontal, vertical and radial recesses.

Either a smooth ashlar effect or a traditional rustic, open stone ashlar effect can be achieved depending on the final aesthetic result required.

More often than not, the colour of the render used to create ashlar detailing is of a traditional buff or stone colour, however there are a wide range of colours to choose from should you wish to create a strikingly different effect.
